Man arrested on outstanding warrant. Media Release 05 December 2018
A 49 year old man remains in custody after Port Hope Police issued a warrant for the arrest of a man for domestic related offences. On the 24th of November a woman filed a complaint with Police about incidents that occurred a few days prior at her Central Port Hope apartment. Police commenced an investigation resulting in a warrant being issued for assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, theft of a motor vehicle and theft of other property and mischief. The man, who is originally from North Eastern Ontario, fled Port Hope in the woman’s vehicle after the alleged incidents occurred. On the 30th of November the man was arrested by the OPP ROPE unit in Perth. Officers from Port Hope attended Perth and took custody of the man escorting him back to Port Hope to face charges. Most of the property was recovered. Police will not release the name of the man in order to protect the identity of the female.
