Police Respond to Disturbance at Port Hope Residence
On March 22, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a complaint about a tenant allegedly smoking fentanyl inside a residence. A verbal altercation followed after the tenant was informed he had to vacate the premises.
Later, police were called back after reports of an assault. Officers arrested the suspect for assault and later charged the 49-year-old Port Hope male with Failing to Comply with Probation.
The suspect was processed and released with conditions, including a court

The Port Hope Police Service would like to advise the public that the investigation scene at Greenwood Towers on Peter Street has been cleared. There is no threat to public safety.
One male remains in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
We thank the surrounding residents for their patience and cooperation throughout this process.
