House Fire

A neighbour alerts the sleeping occupants that their home is on fire. The neighbour first observed the fire at the residence on Highland Drive, Port Hope around 3:38 am on November 1, 2020. The fire was reported to have started in the garage. Within minutes the house was engulfed in flames. As a result of the neighbour, the family members escaped the blaze uninjured. The Fire department reported the fire was caused by an electrical issue.    

 

Your life could be saved by working fire alarms. With the time change it is always recommended to check your batteries in your fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

 

Every day is Crime Prevention; however November 1   _  7,  is the provincial Crime Prevention Week.  This year Crime Prevention is about the benefits of a holistic community approach for addressing local crime and issues related to safety and well-being.  As you can see from the recent press release it is important to help each other to prevent more community members from becoming victims of crime.
