Impaired Driver
On March 21st at approximately 8:13pm, Port Hope Police were called by a witness that reported a blue pick-up truck driving erratically in the area of Elgin St. and McCaul St. Port Hope.
Police were provided with the license plate of the vehicle and proceeded to the registered owner’s address. The vehicle in question was parked in the driveway and was determined to have been recently running. As a result, a male identified as the owner was located in the residence and admitted to consuming alcohol and driving. Police determined that the male was over the legal limit, he was placed under arrest and transported to the station for further testing.
The male was then charged with – Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)
The accused was released on an appearance Notice with a court date of April 6, 2022.
Port Hope Police want to remind citizens to help keep the roads safe. You can do this by planning ahead for a sober ride home. If you witness an impaired driver, call 911.
