On Monday, February 28^th, 2022, while on general patrol, officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle, occupied by a female that was recognized to be wanted by the Durham Regional Police Service. While searching the vehicle, police located a false car battery that when opened, concealed a clear substance that was suspected to be crystal meth. The 29-year-old female was placed under arrest along with the male passenger who was also arrested on an outstanding warrant with the Durham Regional Police Service.

Both parties were later released from the Port Hope Police Service. The female was charged with Operate a motor vehicle - no insurance, operate a motor vehicle - no license, plates not authorized for a motor vehicle, and adult possession of a schedule I substance.

The female will appear in court on March 23, 2022, to answer to her charges.
