Assault Bodily Harm
Twenty year old assaults his mother causing bodily harm . On Sunday, April 25, 2021,around 8:45 am a 20 year old Port Hope man was arrested for beating his mother. The assault began with a verbal altercation that turned violent. A second altercation took place shortly after between the male and his mother which resulted in the victim receiving multiple punches to her face and head. The accused was arrested and held for bail court the same day. The male was later released with very strict conditions. The name of the accused is not being released to protect he victim.
Weapons call
Chandler Jessup, age 23 of Port Hope, was arrested for wielding a knife at a party after an altercation took place at an Ontario Street residence. Jessup attempted to stab a male party who had attended the residence to pick up his sister. Jessup then took off running. The victim ran after the accused and was able to disarm him. Jessup was taken into custody and later released on an undertaking. Jessup was charged with assault, weapons dangerous and assault with a weapon.
Port Hope Police laid several charges under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act after locating fishermen from Toronto, Scarborough and the Woodbridge fishing along the Ganaraska River .
