Media Release November 29, 2024

 

A 37-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with spousal assault following an interaction with his ex-girlfriend.

On November 26, 2024, police responded to a call at a residence in Port Hope regarding a domestic disturbance involving the victim's ex-boyfriend, who refused to leave the property. Following an argument, the victim tried to prevent the accused from leaving the residence. During the altercation, the accused struck the victim in the face multiple times with his hat and spat in her face. The male was subsequently arrested and charged with spousal assault. He was released at the scene on an undertaking with specific conditions.
