Media Release - June 28, 2024

 

Theft

A 46-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with theft, after he and a co-accused were observed on surveillance stealing items from a downtown business.

On June 24, 2024, an employee at the business reported to Police that a male and female entered the business and proceeded to work together to steal items. After officers reviewed surveillance footage, the male, known to police, was positively identified and was charged with Theft under $5000. The female remains unidentified at the time. 

 

Breach of Conditional Sentence Order

On June 24, 2024, a 36-year-old Port Hope female was arrested and charged with Breach of Non-Communication Order While Serving Sentence after she sent unsolicited messages to the male in which the order was between. The female was held for bail.

 

Indecent Act

On June 24, 2024, a 54-year-old Port Hope male was charged with an Indecent Act in a public place after he was witnessed yelling at a group of youths and exposing himself. The accused was located by police and served an appearance notice with a court date in July.
