Assault
A 42 year old man is charged with two counts of assault after police responded to a domestic incident in the east end on November 11th 2010. The man was not at the scene but turned himself into police later. The assault is alleged to have occurred during a verbal altercation the man was having with his girlfriend. During the altercation a baby was pulled from the arms of this woman. The baby was not seriously injured. The accused male was held in custody pending a bail hearing on the 12th of November 2010.
Fraud
A 40 year old Port Hope man has been charged with Fraud and False Pretences with regards to NSF cheques. The man borrowed money off of another male as part of a business venture. When he paid the man back, the cheques bounced. Investigation revealed non sufficient funds were in the accounts prior to the cheques being written. The man appears in court later next month.
