Between 5:00 am Friday, Oct. 22 and 5:00 am Monday, October 25, the Port Hope Police Service responded to 39 calls for service, most of which were minor.

PH10004016 Youths drinking.

Port Hope Police charged several youths for liquor related offences late Friday night.    Many of the youths charged had been at a house party that got out of hand.  

PH10004018 Tires slashed.

Several vehicle tires were slashed in the Barrett St. area late Friday night.   Police believe a pocket knife may have been used, and suspect some of the many drinking youths may have been involved.

PH10004030 Illegal fishing.

A Toronto man was warned for fishing with improper equipment on Saturday evening.   Fishing enthusiasts in the area reported seeing the man using only a net to catch fish in the Ganaraska River.    Police located the man and learned that he was properly licenced to fish, but may have been fishing improperly.  

PH10004041 Theft from vehicles.

Police arrested a Port Hope youth for attempt theft early Monday morning.   The youth was entering vehicles parked at an apartment building.   One of the residents of the building observed what the youth was doing and contacted police.   Police responded and caught the youth near open vehicles in the parking lot.   At the time of this ss release, it is not yet known if anything was stolen.
