Fraud

Identity Fraud
Identity Theft is stealing or misrepresenting the identity of a another person or business.
Phishing is the act of sending someone an email claming to be a legitimate company, than to scam them into disclosing private information.
Advance Fee Fraud
Some companies will claim to guarantee you a loan even in the event that you have no credit or bad credit history. They usually request an up-front fee to process your information. Which than you will be declined and lose out on the fee. People with poor credit are usually targeted.
Mail you receive claming that you may have won a prize. The companies usually tell you that to receive the prize you have to pay a processing fee.
Counterfeit
Counterfeit credit cards, debit cards and money is being created everyday. Always ensure no one else knows your PIN number. In the event of a lost or stolen card, your best bet is to cancel it or change the PIN number.
Other
You may at some point in your life receive a call or mail from a charitable organization asking for money. There are companies out there that prey on people to donate money. These companies may seem legitimate, it's always your best bet to ensure they are reputable.
